BzzAgent - legitimate survey panel #18

I know I promised earlier that I would write a post about BzzAgent, and I am sure you all have been waiting anxiously for me to finally get around to it! Here goes...

I have been a BzzAgent for several years. I am not an overly active agent by any means (I hover between Tier 1 and Tier 2) but I really enjoy being a BzzAgent. I do want to clarify here that BzzAgent is not to be used as a way to get freebies. The premise is that if you are a person who likes to talk to others about products, then you should join and spread the word via WOM - word of mouth advertising.

In the past, I have gotten some mundane and some absolutely cool campaigns. How it works is that you sign up and wait for a campaign to be offered to you. You either accept or decline the campaign, based on your own interests and whether or not you feel you could bzz the product effectively.

Recently, I received a Logitech Harmony One remote to try and bzz about. I can't tell you how excited we were to try out this awesome remote control device that would run our Vivitek TV, DirecTV, TiVO, and DVD player. No more, "Where's the remote?" conversations in our house as this remote does it all. Trust me when I say that needing multiple remotes to run various electronic equipment is not easy with kids around. I was forever looking for one specific remote and not finding it! This remote is easy to bzz to friends and family and since we truly love the Logitech Harmony One remote, it is not difficult to talk to others and share our excitement. Because this remote is so utterly cool, my husband told a friend about it and this friend is planning to buy one! Word of mouth advertising works. Companies know this and they use BzzAgent to spread the word about their products.

You earn points for submitting reports, which can be redeemed for prizes. Currently, the old prize system (which had many flaws, believe me) has been retired and we agents are in limbo while we wait for Shaloha so that we can redeem our points again.

Recent campaigns from recent memory were:

Oust - I received two free cans of Oust to try out (and/or share with a friend, which I did), plus 5 free coupons

Glade Wisp Flameless candle - I received a free Glade Wisp Flameless candle with a total of 3 scents to try out, plus $3 coupons to hand out to friends

Listerine Whitening strips - I received several samples with coupons to use and hand out to friends

Sonicare UV Santitizer - I received this awesome product and was able to bzz about it to several of my friends and family members about its germ killing power. My husband has had several colds, none of which I caught. The unit will sanitize two Sonicare brush heads at once and only takes a few minutes to cycle through.

Campaigns are doled out based on geographic area/demographics so I don't get every one that I would like, but I have appreciated each campaign that I have gotten.

Caveat here is that as I mentioned, you should not join BzzAgent just to get freebies. I joined because I love to try new products and am a chatty person otherwise. Most of the time, it is easy to strike up a conversation about a product. The coupons are nice too and my friends and family that I bzzed the Oust to really appreciated the chance to try the Oust products for free.

Warning: It is absolutely, positively against the Terms of Service of BzzAgent to re-sell any item you get in a campaign. It is my understanding that they do have people that monitor sites such as eBay and the like for campaign items. They can and do catch people violating the TOS and again, if you happen to be a Slickdealer and follow the Official BzzAgent thread, you will see that die hard Agents there who find such listings have no qualms about sending BzzAgent a link if they suspect that you may be violating the TOS.

So, you think you have what it takes to be a BzzAgent? Fly on over to the hive and check it out.

I'm a BzzAgent, too...I just often forget to write the BzzReports! I Bzz about the products I get, and then I get too busy to go and submit a report and then the campaign is over. *sigh* Gotta get better at that...But BzzAgent is an awesome program! :)
