Want to buy a Nook? Go through Ebates.com to get 4% back

*** note --- nook is ineligible for cash back on ebates.com. They have pulled the link and I have received email confirmation that buying a nook via ebates.com will not result in cash back. I'm not sure when this changed, but wanted to alert you before you made a purchase. ****

Are you wanting to buy a Nook for yourself or as a Christmas gift? Order now and there's a very good chance you'll have that hot little Nook in your hands before Christmas. But the $259 price can cause a book lover to cringe. What can you do to save some money on a Nook?

Well, you can shop through Ebates. Barnes & Noble is a merchant listed at Ebates.com and the current cash back rate is 4%, that's a savings of $10.36 when that check hits your mailbox folks! If you are Discover Card holder, be sure to stop by their site and sign up for their double cash back rewards for any online shopping. That means an extra 2% cash back for paying for your purchase with your Discover Card. Between the two programs, you should be able save $15 on the Nook.

Ebates does have a friend referral program - if I were to refer you, I'd get $5 and you'd get $5. The catch: I'd need your email address. So if you were interested in being referred, you'd need to contact me via my profile or leave a comment here with your email address ( for example Joe Schmoe would leave a comment that said: joe_schmoe at gmail dot com) so the bots won't snatch it up and spam you.
