Making Ends Meet: Money Back Guarantees: A list of products offering MBGs

Many products offer money back guarantees, that is, if you use the product for a specified period of time and don't feel it performs as promised, you can request your money back.

I actually rarely take a company up on the offer and caution my readers against using money back guarantees as a way to get free products (or paid extra for trying them). When I have requested money back via a MBG, I have offered very specific reasons for it so that the company can use the reason for dissatisfaction as a way to improve their product. I submit this list as a suggestion of products to try out without risk. Another thought: I would bet these companies maintain a database of frequently dissatisfied customers and you don't want to be on that type of list.

With that said, below is a list of products offering MBGs. If you know of a product that should make it on this list, please leave a comment. Refund information is hotlinked with product name. Many are P&G products.

Dawn Dish Soap - must submit within 30 days of purchase. Two times product price refunded if dissatisfied. Download form to request rebate. Be sure to keep receipt and UPC to request your rebate. End date listed as June 30, 2013.

Brawny Paper Towels - must submit within 60 days of purchase. Full refund. You need to send UPC and receipt, along with reason for dissatisfaction. Limit 1 per household. No end date listed.

Align Pro-biotic - must submit within 60 days of purchase. Full refund. Keep your receipt and UPC to submit.

Pantene - must submit within 60 days of purchase. Full refund. End date is listed as June 30, 2013. Keep receipt and send info for refund on a 3x5 card. Limit 1 refund per household.

Swiffer - must submit within 30 days of purchase. Full refund. End date is listed as June 30, 2013. Keep UPC and receipt as you must have them, as well as downloadable refund request form, to claim. Limit 1 per household.

Cascade Complete Pacs or Cascade ActionPacs - must submit within 30 days of purchase. Full refund. No end date listed. Limit 1 refund per household. Be sure to keep UPC and receipt to send with downloadable form to request rebate.

Nature Made products - Use the drop down menu to choose the product and reason for dissatisfaction. Full refund if dissatisfied.

Luvs diapers Leakguard guarantee - You will need to send back proof of purchase (UPC, receipt, plus 1 diaper) back to them by December 31, 2012, within 60 days of purchase. You will receive refund, plus $1 for postage. Limit 1 refund per household.

Acuvue contacts guarantee - Not satisfied? You'll need to fill out their form and send them back, but you'll get a refund, plus up to $60 for the fitting fee.

Tide Boost Vivid White - must submit within 30 days of purchase. Full refund. No end date listed. Limit 1 refund per household. Keep your reciept and UPC to claim refund.

Drano Liquid Drain Cleaners (32 or 80 oz) - Full refund (up to $6 for 32 oz; up to $9 for the 80 oz) - also includes other varieties. Print form and write UPC on it, along with reason for dissatisfaction with product. No end date listed.

Biz Stain Fighter - Full refund. Print form and write UPC on it and mail in by December 30, 2012. Must be received within 30 days of 2012 purchase date. (Link opens to .pdf as I couldn't find direct link)

Prilosec OTC (three different size packages) - Must submit within 60 days of purchase. Full refund. End date listed as June 30, 2012. Limit 1 refund per household total. Must download form. Be sure to keep your UPC and receipt to claim refund.

Glade Oil Diffuser/spray - Full refund up to $8.99 (starter kit) or $5.99 (refill) for oil or up to $4.99 for spray or $3.99 for spray refill. End date listed as February 28, 2013 (received by them by March 15, 2013). Print form, complete with info and reason for dissatisfaction. Keep your receipt/UPC as you'll need them to submit.

Dreamfields Pasta - Full refund, plus .50 for postage. You need to send UPC, receipt, and boxtop to them with reason for dissatisfaction. No end date listed. Limit 1 refund per household. No end date listed.

Clorox Greenworks cleaners -- Full refund. You will need to work your way through their online prompts.

Northern Toilet Paper - Full refund on Northern Soft & Strong if you're dissatisfied. Must request within 60 days of purchase. Save your UPC and you'll also need to write a reason as to why you weren't happy with product. End date listed as March 31, 2013. Limit 1 per household.

Morningstar burger guarantee - full refund up to $4.99 if you're dissatisfied with product. Must have purchased between June 30, 2012 and November 30, 2012. Print out their refund form to request, be sure to have kept the UPC and receipt.

Finish Quantum Dishwashing tabs - full refund. Must submit by December 31, 2012. Limit 1 refund per household. Print form to send with UPC and cash register receipt. (Link opens a pdf, not a webpage.)

OXO products - full refund if you're not satisfied. You need to call them to speak with a Customer Service Representative.

Zyrtec allergy meds (specific sizes/products) - full refund if you're not satisfied. End date listed as December 31, 2012. Limit 1 refund per household. Hold onto your receipt and packaging for UPC.
