$49 Fire at Amazon - can buy as a six pack (special offer)

This post includes referral links and/or affiliate links within the body of the text.

If you are in the market for an affordable tablet, Amazon has recently launched a $49 Fire tablet.  It's kind of small -- just a 7" screen, but it could be a good buy for a first tablet, especially if your kid keeps stealing your phone to play games.

More about the tablet... there is a way to add memory.  You get 8GB of internal storage with a way to add another 128GB via a SD card.

Amazon is one of the best places for my 10 year old to get free apps and this tablet will allow access to Amazon Underground, which they tout as having $10,000 worth of apps, games, and in-app items being free.

Six pack:  The special offer for the $49 Fire Tablet means that you need to buy 6.  So what you do is go to the quantity drop down and select 6.  Then add them to your cart.  At checkout, type in FIRE6PACK into the promo code field and hit enter.  You should see the discount applied.  Only one six-pack offer per customer, though.  Still, if you're planning to buy everyone a tablet for Christmas, now would be a good time to buy to take advantage of the offer.  Still, it's hard to drop that kind of cash all at once!  However, if you're a blogger wanting to offer prizes, a PTA member wanting to snag a good deal on prizes, or what have you, getting one free is an awesome deal.

Ideas to take the pain out of the six pack price tag include using your Discover cash back balance (you'll need to connect the two via Amazon if you have not already done so) and use money you've earned to pay for this deal.  Also, there's sites like Swagbucks where you can earn Amazon codes via their site.  In fact, I just cashed out for a $25 gift card to Amazon, so when that code comes, it will be like getting half off.

The new $49 Fire Tablet does not release until September 30.
