Plan ahead: August 11 ~ Free children's screening at Sam's Club

Sam's Club offers monthly screening for the first 100 members, with each month focusing on a different health topic.  August's focus will be children's health and on August 11 from 11 AM - 3PM, Sam's Club will offer the following as part of their free health screening program:

DNA kit;
Fingerprint kit;
Dental tablets;
Blood pressure; and
Body mass index

Go here to find a participating Sam's Club near you. Heads up:  Next month (September) will focus on diabetes.

High blood pressure can happen in children/teens.  It only takes a minute to have their blood pressure checked!  As with adults, there are no symptoms.  A friend of mine shocked me by telling me her son (a 17  year old kid) had high blood pressure.  It can happen!  A quick, free test could spot a problem that needs addressed.  If your kids are healthy, you likely don't take them to the doctor very often.  So definitely take advantage of free tests such as this month's screening offered at Sam's Club.  Read more about childhood hypertension at the Mayo Clinic site.
