I know what you are thinking... you are wondering how something that can cost a $100 or more can actually save you money. It seems to go against your logic that you need to spend money in order to save it. But trust me on this one, it will save you money in the long run.
I purchased a Food Saver approximately a year and a half ago and I can't tell you how much money it has saved me. Leftovers? Enact that one day rule here. If someone does not plan on eating the leftovers for lunch the next day, then freeze them! Then, on a lazy weekend day or week night when you don't have time to cook, simply reheat a past meal. Why the one day rule? Let's be honest here. I would hazard a guess that most people do not eat every single nibble of their leftovers and toss a lot of food over the long haul. Sometimes you just don't feel like having the same meal again, so it sits in the fridge until it is past the point of safe consumption. With the one day rule, there's no waste because it gets frozen while the food is still perfectly edible.
Food Savers help save your meats from freezer burn, saving you from having to toss away pricey meat. In today's economy, it is so important to save money on things that you have some control over. Groceries are an easy target for the budget conscious. It is one area where we do have some discretion over how much we spend.
