Do you live in the Rust Belt? Credit Unions in several states are offering lower cost loans to help boost Chrysler sales

I stumbled upon this AP article that appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The article states that, "The 2,500 credit unions in 12 states said their 25 million members will be eligible for rebates of $500 or $1,000 on nearly all Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles financed through their unions through June 30."

These credit unions are stepping up to the plate and trying to help this car company survive. While the Auto Bailout is a contentious issue, I do think that this news is good news. Taxpayers are already on the hook for billions already from the Wall Street bailout earlier this fall. The credit unions in the affected states are doing their part to help the economy turn around and I think it is an appropriate action that more companies should model. Credit unions in 4 states are doing a similar promotion for GM car buyers.
