Apple 1-Day sale on Black Friday: Perhaps a good deal on an iPad?

Apple is having a 1-Day sale on Black Friday, according to their website.  Their site says:

Come back to the Apple Online Store the day after Thanksgiving for a special one-day-only holiday shopping event. You’ll find dozens of great iPad, iPod, and Mac gifts for everyone on your list.

So there ya go!  I had seen that TJ Maxx stores (select stores) were offering the wi-fi only iPad for about $400, so who knows what the pricing scheme here will be.  Apple's prices are fairly steady - not much of a sale (if any) and their refurbs are priced almost as much as a factory original.  I'll pop over for their sale tomorrow just to window shop.  My hubby is jonesing for an iPad, though he is reluctant to part with so much money.

Hubby's prediction:  He read that announcement as a sale on accessories and apps only.  He doesn't see them lowering the price on their hardware, except perhaps the iPod.  Visions of skins, apps and other accessories are dancing in his head.  So, don't get your hopes up too high for huge deal on an Apple product.

Just peeked at Apple.com and yes, there are a few items discounted. The bulk of it is apps/accessories, but the $499 iPad model is down $41 to $458 and the iPod Touch is $208.

Biggest savings are on their iMacs - you can save $101 there.

Apple's discounts are always slight. They know that the really savvy Mac/iPad/iPhone shoppers are going to go to MacMall, MacSales, and others. There are deals to be had out there, and Apple's not going to compete with them, ever. If they do, they're shooting their resellers in the foot.
