Check it out! There's no domed middle and one thing that we noticed with the Sprint Flying Ring was that it did go further than other frisbees that we've flown. The directions do say that you need to play in a clear area. Take heed and learn this lesson...
Whoops! We did get it back down, by the way. The lack of a middle also means that ringing a tree branch can happen, so do play somewhere with minimal trees (especially with kids, who may not have the best aim). On the plus side, it's lack of a middle also means that it is extremely easy to catch. More catches definitely equals more fun! It was fun to watch too, since it seemed to effortlessly glide through the air like a graceful swan.
The ring itself is very flexible, but if you notice the ring turning left or right when you play, it has instructions right on it to tell you how to bend the Sprint Flying Ring back to the correct position for flight. The kids whacked my husband's car a few times, but no scratches. It just bounced right off.
Best of all for some of us couch potatoes, playing frisbee with the kids with such an nice ring does count as exercise! It's low impact and thus a good choice for those who aren't very active.
* The Sprint ring retails for about $7. You can find retailers here: http://aerobie.com/wheretobuy.

I don't need to win an Aerobie flying ring because I already have a few. Your post was the first I've seen where someone actually talks about their experience using an Aerobie. I have also managed to get my ring stuck in a tree, as well as on the roof of a school and over several nearby fences. I highly recommend for people who enjoy frisbee to get themselves a 13" Aerobie Flying Ring. Good post though!
