Bumble Bee Tuna Recall Refund Information

If you've stocked up on Bumble Bee Tuna products recently, you want to check the lot code on the can.   Go here to the FDA.gov site to see a list of affected products and the lot codes for comparison.  Most products that were subject to the recall have a best-by date of January 16, 17, or 18, 2016.   Chunk Light Tuna and Chunk Lite Albacore varieties are potentially affected.   This recall was initiated by the company because they were concerned that the cans on specified lots were not sealed to their standards.

The recall notice asks customers who are affected to dispose of the product because of the risk of illness due to spoilage.  A phone number to call to ask for reimbursement (refund) was tacked onto the very end of the notice.  Customers who are affected are directed to call Bumble Bee's Consumer Affairs at (800) 800-8572.  Lines are open 24 hours a day.
