General Mills + Hot Wheels® = Breakfast Fun (Review & Giveaway) #MyBlogSpark

 

My thanks to General Mills via MyBlogSpark for providing me with product to review here at Making Ends Meet. 

Hot Wheels^® and General Mills are a great combination.  I was recently afforded the opportunity to review the cereal containing the "Gas and Go" collectable Hot Wheels^®racers.  These collectable racers have been inside specially marked packages of select General Mills cereals since January 24th and should be on your grocer's shelves now or very soon.

Which General Mills Cereals Have Them?

• Cheerios^® 14 oz
• Cinnamon Toast Crunch^®  17 oz
• Lucky Charms^® 16 oz
• Reese’s Puffs^® 18 oz
• Cookie Crisp^® 15.6 oz

And each car contains a code to unlock an online racing game.  Kids should ask first before venturing online!

What Mom and Kids Thought 

I actually loved the idea of having a cool car inside a cereal box.  Growing up, there was always a fight between me and my siblings for who would get the prize inside the box.  I can hear my mother now telling us not to open up the box because a different cereal box was open already.  Not that we listened.  And that's just exactly how my kids acted too!  They want the car and even my 9 year old daughter has been begging to open up a box to snag a car for herself.  They really liked that they could customize the car with the stickers.  

I wouldn't say that these Hot Wheels^®racers were the same as what you'd buy in a store.  They are plastic and very light, but they do work well when pulled back.  The movement even got the cats' interest.

Buy Them:  Look in your stores for specially marked packages.  Buy a box for yourself and hide the toy from the kids!  There's no shame in keeping something for yourself.
