I am the one who fills out all of those warranty cards in my house. While most people just toss these postcards aside, I know from past experience that taking the time to register your product not only protects your rights in the case of a warranty issue, but it often will lead to rebates and other special offers that can save you money.
Take for instance my Sonicare toothbrush. I dutifully filled out that warranty card and was rewarded with a rebate for $10 off my next purchase of a brush head. Five minutes of my time netted me a $10 in savings. I register just about every product that comes with a warranty card, and especially those that will require me to purchase replacement parts or refills. Most companies do not make money on the unit itself; instead they make their money on the refills. From past experience, I find that you are more likely to get money saving offers if you opt to receive communications by e-mail vs. snail mail. It is far easier and cheaper for companies to send you an e-mail announcing an offer than it is for them to print up and mail the offer to you.
There are many reasons, other than possible savings opportunities, to register your products. If you would like to read more on why you should register your products, please read 6 Important Reasons Why You Should Register Your Products.

Me, too--I try to fill them out, my hubby would never even think about doing it. Any kind of paperwork that comes with anything he just hands over to me without even glancing at it. LOL
