Saving money on fast food: sign up for restaurant birthday clubs

Restaurants want your business. They know that folks like to eat out for special occasions like birthdays, so many of them entice you to eat at their restaurant by targeting you with special offers. These special offers are a great way trim the fat from your dining out expenditures. Sunday papers are also a great place to get cash off coupons for restaurant dining. Olive Garden routinely offers $4 coupons in the Sunday inserts here.

For kids, especially, restaurants are more inclined to offer freebies. Take Burger King, for instance. Signing up for their BK kids program will net you a post card for a free kids meal that arrives around the time of your child's birthday. Bob Evans offers a similar program for kids and Sonic too. Take the time to visit your favorite restaurants' websites to sign up for special offers such as these.

Here's a list of links to get you started:

Friendly's
: Get an email two weeks before your birthday for free ice cream. Does not appear to be limited to just kids.

Burger King: Click on "Explore BK" and choose Kids to get to the Kids Club and/or BK Promotions to sign your self up.

Bob Evans
: This link should take you to the Kids Birthday Club sign up page. We personally love Bob Evans and any time we can get a free meal there, we'll gladly take it!

Denny's: Print out this form, fill out and then mail it in to join Dennys' birthday club. You can list multiple children on this form to save postage.

Sonic: Sign up here to get a coupon for a free wacky pack kids meal. This will come as an e-mail, so be on the lookout for it when it is close to your child's birthday.

These are a sampling of restaurants that I found via Google search. Take the time to search your favorite restaurant sites for similar programs. Why pay full price if you don't have to?
