At a frugal living forum that I frequent, the members there have been sharing their frugal living tips. The forum is part of Refundsweepers, an online coupon/rebate trading forum. So if you are looking for coupons or forms, check there!
I have been enjoying reading everyone's frugal living tips. Many of them are beyond what I would do, but there are many other tips from those frugal women that I would take to heart, such as abandoning disposable diapers in favor of cloth ones, but my children are past the baby diaper stage where I would save mega amounts of money by going cloth.
Their posts made me think of my own frugal living tips, which I list below in no particular order.
Pinching Abe's Frugal Living Tips:
1. I own a Swiffer Sweeper and couldn't help but notice the pad replacements looked a lot like Always and its dryweave. When I run out of Swiffer pads, I have been known to use maxi pads I have gotten free or dirt cheap with my Swiffer.
2. I have 3 furry pets and the vacuum cleaner bag fills up quickly with fur, so when it is full, I pull the gobs of fur out and re-use the bag at least 3 times before kicking it to the trash.
3. I stockpile items I know I will use later. When there was a high value coupon for Electrasol, I bought extra papers and was given coupons from friends so that I could stock up on Electrasol. It keeps well in my shed and I was able to pick up several boxes at just .25 per box of 15 tabs at Dollar General. I do this when I notice items that would be free or dirt cheap and I know I will be able to use them before they expire.
4. I shop at CVS. Alot. When I can get items free after Extra Care Bucks, I do it (provided I or someone I know has a use for it.)
5. I visit other forums, such as Slickdeals.net and see what other deals others are reaping, and cruise into the freebie forum to see which companies are offering free samples.
