Thinking ahead to the 4th of July --- build yourself a ladder golf game

Ladderball, Ladder Golf, Hillbilly Golf... it goes by many names, but it is the same game. If you are pinching your pennies and looking for some summer entertainment, take a look at this article by Brian Harmon over at Associated Content:

How to build your own Ladder Golf like game

Mr. Harmon describes in easy to understand terms just what you need to do to
build your own Ladder Golf game. I wrote an article myself about Ladder Golf as part of a call for content about summer games to play at Fourth of July parties or barbecues. That article is Ladder Golf: The perfect Fourth of July Party Game. In that article, I discuss why it is a game good for all ages and the basic rules of the game. Dick's Sporting Goods also carries this game, or you can DIY like the author above did. My dad built his own and we played that at his home last summer on a nice, lazy day.

So if your budget is tight, but you are handy enough, take a stab at building one of these contraptions. I did find some soft golf balls at Target, so check there if you want soft bolos for the kids! At the very least, you can price out the materials and decide whether or not it is worth buying a game or building your own. Have fun!
