If you are a Discover Card customer, make sure you log into your account and sign up for the newest promo of 5% back on Hotels and Gas through the months of July and September! I always sign up for these promos and let me tell you, I have really raked in the rewards. Last winter, I signed up for their promo, which then was 5% back on travel related expenses. I just happened to be going to Disney and we were able to earn cash back on the airline fees as well as our lodging and even our Disney tickets! This current promo should help take some of the pain at the pump out of your summer travel plans. These promos are exceptional, especially for those who do not carry balances.

"Get going this summer and get 5% Cashback Bonus on up to $400 in gas and hotel purchases from July through September."
The bonus only accrues after you have signed up; it does not run retroactively. So be sure to sign up today! 5% cash back on a $50 fill up = $2.50. If you are filling up weekly, you'll max out on the $400 limit in no time. Remember, you can claim your cash back bonus by either a) applying it to your balance; b) requesting a check; or c) trading it in for a gift card with their cash back partners.
