Fall is officially here and before you know it, kids will be ringing your door bell and begging for treats. This isn't just the time for harvest, ghouls and pumpkins... it is also the time to start thinking about your insurance options for the coming year.
Open season is a source of pain for me since it is mainly up to me to ferret out the best coverage for the least amount of money and choose an insurance plan that I can live with for the next year. A month before your insurance open season begins is a great time to lay the ground work to ease the burden of choosing a plan within the time constraints. Time management is key to maintaining your sanity (and full head of hair?) as you separate the wheat from the chaff when you review your plan choices.
Want to read some tips on surviving open season? I wrote this article a few months ago and I hope you find the tips helpful. I will soon begin reviewing our medical needs (and now orthodontic....) so that I get a clear picture of which coverages we used the most this year to help me make decision making a little bit easier.
