This is my town: Colonial Beach, Virginia (and Westmoreland County, Virginia)

There's proof that even in the far reaches of rural living, everybody's town has a claim to fame. Growing up in Crawford County, PA, we could claim actress Sharon Stone. Heck, when I lived in Erie, we claimed Billy Blanks and Ann Davis (Brady Bunch fame).

So, too, Colonial Beach, Virginia has ties to famous folks. George Washington was born not far from my house, as was James Monroe (our nation's 5th president). Just a wee bit further from me, you'll find Stratford Hall - the famous Lees of Virginia hailed from there, including 2 Declaration of Independence signers as well as the more famous son - General Robert E. Lee. So take a minute and read a little bit more about where I live. We're off the beaten path, but we're rich in history!
