Enter my Betty Crocker Gluten Free Dessert Mix giveaway!

MY FIRST BLOG GIVEAWAY! ENTER TO WIN A "SWEET TREATS" PRIZE PACK, COURTESY OF MYBLOGSPARK

********** Winner chosen - Thanks for stopping by. This giveaway is over. ************

I recently joined MyBlogSpark and was offered a Betty Crocker Gluten Free Dessert prize pack to giveaway on my blog! This is my very first blog giveaway and I am so thrilled to offer my readers the chance to win such a sweet prize. I wish to first and foremost thank my sponsor, MyBlogSpark, for providing me such a fantastic product to giveaway. Please read on to find out more about Betty Crocker's Gluten Free Desserts.

Product reviews

Gluten free desserts that actually taste good are hard to come by. I live in rural America, and let me tell you there are no grocery stores within a reasonable driving distance that even offer a decent selection (if any) of gluten free foods. Recently, I found some new Betty Crocker Gluten Free dessert mixes at a Food Lion in King George, Virginia. I nearly fainted dead away in the aisle (no joke) as I gleefully grabbed three dessert boxes and put them into my cart. I'd gotten notified by Amazon that they were now offering Betty Crocker's new gluten free desserts by the case, but I wanted to have a taste first. For me, at least, gluten free foods are hit or miss. I did not want to invest in a case only to not like the product.

The first mix I tried was the chocolate chip cookie mix. Ah, Heaven! These were so good that I wrote a review that was ultimately published at Associated Content. These cookies were divine and truth be told, I had a hard time controlling my urge to eat them all - much like Sesame Street's Cookie Monster! Ultimately, the kids wouldn't leave them alone and they were gobbled up in short order. What I liked most about these cookies was the taste. Upon the first taste, I could taste the difference, but it wasn't a bad taste, just a little different. For the most part, they tasted just like mom's normal non-gluten free chocolate chip cookies.

I next tried Betty Crocker's Devil's Food cake mix. Instead of baking the mix as a cake, I used cupcake tins. These cupcakes were moist, something that I have never been able to achieve with other gluten free cake mixes. I did find some gluten free frosting, but I found I much preferred to eat them without frosting. They were even moist the second day. They reminded me of my mom's chocolate mayonnaise cake (sans the mayo).

Just this week I baked the yellow cake mix. This I didn't have as much luck with, but I think it is because I overbaked the cupcakes slightly. For frosting, I made some out of powdered sugar, milk and some Crisco. Though my cupcakes came out a bit dry, I did notice that they were more moist the second day. If I had to choose between a favorite gluten free cake mix, I would choose the chocolate over the yellow.

I haven't yet made the brownies, and they are next on the agenda. I'll let you know how they turn out. I'm looking forward to baking some to have with some vanilla ice cream and perhaps even make myself a hot fudge brownie sundae. --- Update: The brownies turned out great! They weren't too rich for me, which was a good thing! Hubby said he can't taste the difference (no "corny" taste is how he put it) and I can't either. Yummy! He said this mix, by far, was the best tasting of all of the gluten free brownie mixes I've had him taste in the past. Looks like this mix is a keeper!

I want to note that these products are made in a dedicated gluten free facility. This is great news for peace of mind! No worries about cross-contamination. These mixes were also super easy to follow. Trust me when I say that's a blessing to me!

And now, for the giveaway!

As I mentioned, MyBlogSpark is providing me with a fantastic prize pack to giveaway on my blog. They will ship the winner of this giveaway a "Sweet Treats" prize pack consisting of:

One box of each of Betty Crocker's Gluten Free dessert mixes

  • Betty Crocker Gluten Free Brownie Mix
Plus:
  • Two free coupons
  • A magnetic grocery list - handy to put on the fridge
  • A pen
  • A reusable grocery tote
(My photo above doesn't show the pen and magnetic grocery list. They were already in use when this photo was taken.)

After the winner is chosen and verified, I will notify MyBlogSpark and the prize pack will be shipped from them directly to the winner.

And finally, if you don't win, they have provided me a telephone number that you can call to have a free coupon sent to you so that you can try a Betty Crocker gluten free dessert. To get a free coupon and further info on Betty Crocker's gluten free product line, please call 1-800-446-1898.

If you have any questions about this giveaway, please let me know. You can contact me via my profile page. I want to stress that these Gluten Free desserts taste great and are good for those who aren't allergic to wheat, have celiac or follow a gluten free diet because of autism or other health conditions. If you have a friend or family member who eats gluten free, send them on over! At the very least if they don't win, they can snag that phone number above and call to get a free coupon to give these new gluten free products a try.

I went & bought Betty Crocker GF products the day they hit my local grocery store.
I've only tried the Yellow cake mix so far but I don't like it at all. It's too gritty. I can't remember which GF flour is NOT gritty at all, but I know it wasn't the one used here :(

I was on a gluten free diet several years ago and strongly remember the lack of GOOD DESSERTS! These look amazing...especially the brownies. I hope to start going gluten free again in the future, and knowing that there are mixes out like this now is one more reason to start again!

I wouldn't even know where to start!!! I would probably have to go with the yellow cake. I am a baker. I decorate cakes from home and I can't even eat them. I made three last weekend. This is amazing. I live in Alaska and we are always the last to get new things...I am so excited that I will be able to enjoy a celebration cake with my family again without having to slave in the kitchen or spend an excessive amount of money. Thank you so much for sharing this.
