I received a sneak peak email from Staples telling me how to get a backpack free. Basically, you purchase a backpack and as a Staples Rewards member, you receive the full purchase price back via their rewards program. The Staples Rewards bucks you earn won't be sent until October though... so it is a bit of a wait. Still, if you are planning to purchase a backpack for your child (limit is one per household/account) then it is worth taking a look at Staples. The ad starts Sunday and I'd imagine the selection will be best early on in the sale. You must be a Staples Rewards member, so be sure to sign up first before you buy if you aren't already a member.

There will be some Zebra mechanical pencils and Zebra Sarasa gel pens on full Easy Saver rebate, as well as Pentel retractable highlighters (4 pack) for free after rebate too. Hubby wasn't too enthused over the laptop featured on the front page of the ad. The price is good, but the processor is kind of low-end. He's a computer nerd though so maybe he expects more machine for his bucks!
