Want to save some money on back-to-school shopping? If you're in a state (or near one) that's giving folks a sales tax holiday via a tax free weekend, you're in luck. Several states are running their back-to-school tax free weekends August 7 through August 9. It's not all clothes and pencils either. Some states are allowing consumers to buy computers for school and some even allow baby essentials like diapers and blankets to be covered under their tax free weekend. Rumor has it that DC canceled theirs (couldn't or wouldn't afford to let that sales tax slide away from their coffers) but no fear - DC and MD residents can sneak across the border into VA to get some tax free shopping done.
LINKS to a few articles I wrote about some of the states who have a tax free weekend August 7-9:

Note: For Texans, they may want to cross the border into OK, LA or NM for extra tax free shopping opportunities. Those states' tax free weekends are also August 7-9, so snag the early sales and finish up during Texas' tax free weekend.
