I am making this plea as a personal favor to my sister-in-law, who is actually a consecrated religious Sister who teaches at Incarnation-St. James school in Ewing, NJ. Her school is in danger of closing and they are seeking to raise funds in order to keep the doors open.
It breaks my heart that her school is in danger of closing because I live in an area of Virginia where Catholic parishes are few and far between. We have a Catholic church in my town and one about 15 miles away in a neighboring town. Other than that, you must drive an hour in any other direction to reach another Catholic church. This, sadly, means that a Catholic education is very difficult achieve here since the nearest Catholic schools are quite a distance away.
They need to raise $300,000 by the end of March and they are off to a good start, raising just under $50,000 so far. They need help to reach their goal and any amount is greatly appreciated. If you can't afford to give, prayers are also much needed.
They're trying to reach as many people as possible, so please share this link with others. Perhaps you have had a Catholic education... wouldn't you want to help children continue in this tradition? In an uncertain world where there are so many bad influences on kids, Catholic schools are there to provide a quality education.
Every donation, however big or small, brings them closer to their goal. You can make a donation by going to the ISJ home page and clicking on the life preserver. Together we can make a difference in a child's life. Please help Incarnation-St. James stay open.
