Tax time and unemployment benefits

I found this article at CNN today that I thought was pretty interesting... enough to forward it to someone I know who is unemployed and has been for several months. I didn't know about the $2,400 exemption. The article says you must do it yourself; your state won't do the math for you when they send you your tax forms.
