The Post Office Wants Your Input! Is Saturday delivery a must?

The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) wants your input on mail delivery, specifically on ending Saturday delivery:

From the PRC site:

"The Commission is inviting public comments on a Postal Service proposal to end carrier street address delivery, collection at blue collection boxes and incoming mail processing on Saturdays in the United States. This is one of the most significant changes the Postal Service has ever presented to the Commission. The Postal Service is required to ask the Commission for an Advisory Opinion on any change in nationwide service that it proposes." (emphasis mine)

I'm in favor of losing Saturday delivery to save money, provided that they actually have a plan to ensure that they won't be stealing another day of mail service away from the American public.

So what say you? The PRC invites YOUR comments via their site. You can either write or use their contact PRC to share your thoughts. Have a better idea to trim the fat? Share that with them too.

Why don't you try charging full postage for all the junk mail that I have to haul right from my mail box to my trash can. It would at least save us all a lot of work and might help in stemming you losses. In addition it would save paper and landfill space.
