EcoMom recently sent me a bar of Pangea's Malagasy Cinnamon Cassia with Cloves to review. I chose the Malagasy Cinnamon bar because one of the ways I treat myself is to buy highly fragrant and yummy smelling bar soaps for my own, personal use. I've been using bar the past few weeks and here are my thoughts on the product.
Scent of Pangea's Malagasy Cinnamon Cassia with Cloves bar soap
I was not disappointed by the scent. When the package first came shipped to me from EcoMom.com, I spent a good amount of time inhaling the scent while it was still in the eco-friendly packaging (more on that later). To me, it smelled like a pack of Big Red. It smelled good enough to eat, though I wouldn't recommend that.
Hours later, you still have a light scent on your skin. It didn't dry my skin, something that bar soaps do if I do not carefully select them.
You don't have to worry about lather either. The Pangea Malagasy Cinnamon Cassia lathers very well and rinses quickly from my shower sponge.
I could definitely see a use for this soap in the kitchen too, for after I cut onions or other food items that have odors that tend to cling to your skin.
Pangea's Eco-friendly packaging
In keeping with the theme of eco-friendliness at EcoMom, the packaging for the Pangea soap was definitely eco-friendly. Pangea's soaps are organic and cruelty-free. They are also fair trade (when possible) which is nice since it shows that the company has a social conscience. There are no preservatives and the packaging comes from recycled materials. The packaging box itself is molded fiber and made with zero waste out of recycled 100% post consumer newsprint with no dyes or glues. Inside are several beads that contain spruce tree seeds. The packaging includes directions on how to germinate the seeds, which can be a fun project for your kids. One month past delivery, my packaging still smells like the soap it came wrapped around.

I love organic products! All the soaps look great on Ecomom.com, especially the cinnamon one you reviewed and Canadian Pine with White Sage (sounds good for a morning shower!) The CleanWell products also look great. They have an alcohol free foaming hand sanitizer and some nice foaming hand soaps (orange-vanilla and spearmint-lime sound great). Thanks for introducing me to this site!
OK, I liked EcoMom on facebook. On it I saw the post for Deep Lavender Rub. Glad I looked because I missed that on the website and a nice smelling heat rub is hard to find!
I'm now following EcoMom on twitter also. Looks like they gave away gift certificates via twitter about a week ago. Glad I'm following! Thanks again for this review and for introducing me to EcoMom.

I'm glad that more companies are forming or getting more publicity that are trying to be more sustainable and earth friendly. That being said, most make-up companies are just creating little chemical-spreads that we lather over our delicate faces without a second thought. I would like to try the Eco Mom Plum Palette Fruit Pigment Eye Shadow. I'd feel much better about using it than what I currently have, which may or may not be made out of fish scales and beetles, haha.
