Yoplait Kids - less sugar for your little ones! (Review and Giveaway) #myblogspark

Too much sugar is something that I worry about for my kids, especially my youngest.  He seems to get a bit more wound up than normal when he ingests a lot of sugar.  I try to limit sugary snacks and was pleased to be asked to try Yoplait Kids' yogurt in my home.  Both of my kids enjoy yogurt and I thought it would be a nice change of pace since they typically request yogurt that's higher in sugar.

What my 9 year old thought:

I got the strawberry strawberry banana flavor and they were extra cute with Disney Princesses on the outside.  That's where her love for the product ended.  She thought the taste was "OK" and didn't think it was sweet enough.  In addition, she thought the yogurt cup was awful small.  I'll give her that since I thought they were a bit on the small side myself.

What my 6 year old thought:

He wasn't turned off by the taste at all.  He really liked the yogurt and had no complaints about it not being sweet enough.  He didn't even care that they came in a girly package and he finished the other 3 cups.  As a quick snack, I think he's accustomed to a larger portion.  However, I liked that he wasn't turned off by the fact that Yoplait kids contains 25% less sugar than leading kids' yogurts.  It also has no HFCS, artificial flavors, sweeteners or colors.   Score one for mom!  I wouldn't mind seeing it in a larger portion though.

My kids like snacks with too much sugar or salt. I love that Yoplait is making the kids' products with lower sugar.

We try to limit the amount of sugar in snacks by not buying junk food so this would come in handy.

My kids love yogurt and i really like the fact yoplait has less sugar. The winter time is the worst time for my kids to have sugar bc it weakens their immune. i like yogurt bc it has probiotics and yoplait has less sugar :) We do lots of fruit instead of sugar products when they want something sweet too.

I don't really find it much of a challenge. One of our favorite snacks is clementines. Yoplait Kid's lowered sugar content is certainly appealing.

BusyWorkingMama said...

I have no struggles. My 3 year old daughter eats anything from stuffed cabbage to raw radishes to sushi. My biggest shopping struggle is finding NATURALLY low-sugar options. I often skip the yogurt because it has SO much sugar. And if you get the low-sugar kind, it is often filled with splenda or something icky. Thanks for the chance!

We don't have too much problem with healthy snacks. Hubby dehydrates fruit and veg and our little one is hooked on it, especially the apples! A lower sugar yogurt definitely appeals as a treat!

My hardest challenge is that both of my children have a sweet tooth. They love fruit which is good for them and I am so grateful for that. Unfortunately, they also love foods with far too much sugar.
