Whoa nelly! My jaw dropped when I read this article over at CNN Money that focused on the disparity in pricing for generics for drugs whose patents had run out in drug stores vs. club stores like Sam's and Costco. Specifically mentioned was a $133 dollar difference in cost for a cholesterol drug if you purchase it at CVS vs. Costco.
That's a significant amount of money --- a good portion of an electric bill, cell phone bill, or cable bill... or a host of other things you'd rather spend money on instead of prescriptions.
If you take medications on a regular basis, never assume that the price you pay is the best price available to you. The article fingers CVS, Rite Aid, and Target as the priciest places to pick up your prescriptions.
Give it a try and let me know if you are able to save money by going with a club store for refills instead.
