2015 IRS Standard Mileage Rates, recap of 2014 IRS Standard Mileage Rates

Earlier this month, the IRS published the new standard mileage rates for 2015.  These rates apply to mileage reimbursement rates for business travelers and those wishing to claim mileage for medical or moving travel.

• 57.5 per mile for business travelers (this is up slightly from 2014, when it was 56 cents per mile)

• 23 cents per mile for medical/moving travelers (this is down slightly from 2014 when it was 23.5 per mile)

• 14 cents per mile for those claiming mileage for charitable organizations.  This rate is set by Congress and has remained unchanged for about a decade.  Quite a disparity between the other rates!

To recap, if you're looking for 2014 rates, the business traveler rate for 2014 was 56 cents per mile, the medical/moving rate was 23.5 per mile, and the charitable organization travel rate remained unchanged at 14 cents per mile.
