Notfindingout.com: Find baby gifts for those not finding out the sex (plus Boon GIVEAWAY!)

It's been a few years since I had my last child.  When my nephew announced that they were having a baby this summer, I confess... I started strolling down those long neglected baby aisles at the stores.  What I found there surprised me.  Back when we started our family, you either bought pink, blue or yellow and green.  At least you had the option for gender neutrality.  Since I wasn't sure what they were having, I couldn't buy them anything other than sterile white onesies! I was surrounded by pink and blue with not a gender neutral clothing item in sight.  I wondered, what did people who weren't finding out do for a baby layette?   If you're in the same boat, it's time to check out notfindingout.com. They are a unique baby registry that caters to those who aren't finding out. So when you're 'expecting the unexpected', this is the site to visit to browse for baby items.

How it works:

Moms can create a unique baby registry at the notfindingout.com site and select NFO (not finding out) items for their registry.  These items aren't delivered until the baby is born and the sex of the baby is verified.  That means, for instance, you can pick out a cute baby hat that is an NFO item (identified in product description) and when the baby arrives, you would receive that hat in blue for a boy or pink for a girl.

After you register, you receive a packet in the mail, which includes a special card that you take with you to your health care provider.  Your provider fills in the sex of of your baby, and then you mail the card back to NFO. The sex is verified after birth and it is then that your NFO items are shipped to you in pink or blue. Notfindingout.com graciously provided me with several items to review and one of my lucky readers will win a Boon gift basket with the same items that I received.  This gift basket is valued at approximately $38. Fluid Cup  Boon's fluid cup is meant for older babies, but all parents love to have things before they need them.  I liked the way it could be gripped easily and the top snapped on super tight.

Modware Utensils These plastic Modware utensils were chunky at the handles, which makes them great for kids when they are first learning how to eat with a fork and spoon.  I liked that the fork was more of a spork!  

Odd Duck (Jane, Bob)  I received Bob, and he's orange and white.  I gave Bob a big squeeze and what I love about this bath toy is that he didn't squeak or leak air.  He'll just float!  I'll be honest, I hated rubber ducks for my kids.  The water never all came out and they got icky inside.  I'll take a duck that just floats along anyday!  He's got orange stripes, so he's also visually appealing to a baby or young child.

Saucer Plate The Boon saucer plate is really cool.  The compartments on the top are kind of shallow, but there's plenty of room for a full baby meal. The contoured sides should make using the Modware utensils easy for scooping baby food out of the compartment.  I'm picturing chicken noodle with green beans and tutti fruitti for dessert - all on one convenient plate.  I think it will also work great for restaurants because the saucer plate will grip onto your table.  I put it down on mine and had to push really hard to get it to move.  

Snack Ball  The snack ball was cool too.  It is a perfect sphere, save a small dimple on the top which you use to open it.  I can hear it snap shut and it is a tight fit.  Little hands might not fit really well to reach inside for a snack, but you can tip it to get a better grip on those Cheerios!  

Squirt Spoon The Boon Squirt Spoon holds up to 3 ounces of baby food.  The spoon section of this three piece unit (there's a cover for the spoon) screws on, so you'll have no trouble washing it after baby's meal.  I see this product as something great for on the go.
