I received an email, that stated, in part:
During the 2016 - 2017 school year and beyond we will continue to honor labels only from schools currently registered with the program. We will remove the Labels for Education logo mid-2016 and expect there will be a limited number of products that contain these labels in stores through 2017.
The email states that the participation level from schools is just not enough to continue on:
During the past year, we've been assessing the impact of these programs and through this, we've seen that participation in Labels for Education has declined considerably. Sadly, it is at the point where we have no choice but to make the very difficult decision to wind down the program.
As a former coordinator for my child's previous school, I totally get their point. Our school participated in this and other programs (BTFE, Tyson's Labels). Compared to Box Tops, this program was not as lucrative for schools since BTFE is 10 cents per box top. And that's cash. They issue checks twice a year, so it behooves you to get your BTFE in before the check is cut each six months or so.
The points you collect from Campbell's labels go toward a catalog. So you have to spend the points on items and they may not be things you need. We always strived to catch every bonus possible because the points weren't really worth much.
What do you think? Are you heart broken they're going to end the program?
