2017 IRS Standard Mileage Rates

In case you missed it's release in December, the IRS has updated the standard mileage rates for business and medical miles driven.

According to the press release in December, the new 2017 standard mileage rate for business miles will be 53.5 cents per mile (down from 54 cents in 2016).  Medical or moving dropped from 19 cents in 2016 to 17 cents per mile.  Driving done in service of charitable organizations is still set at 14 cents per mile.  That rate is set by statute and can only change if Congress legislates a change.
