You know how kids are with money... it is always burning a hole in their pocket. So, while out shopping for a few things, we stopped at a Toys R Us. Here's what we found that were great deals for us:
Colored Composition Notebooks - only .28! I found reddish pink, green and blue hues mixed in with toys on a clearance shelf near the Crayola Crayon products. I snapped up all 10 because I had to send in 3 of them this past year for school and even on a good sale, the cheapest I could get them last summer during back to school sales was about $1 each. Worse case scenario I have cheap notebooks to keep the kids entertained in the car.
Personalized Pencils - only .28! These were up by the registers for me. I only could find one pack with my daughter's name on them, so if you have a child with a non-popular name (I saw a lot of Hunter, Caleb, Noah, etc.) you may be in luck.
Personalized Toothbrushes - only .28! Again, I only found one with my daughter's name on it, but still .28 for a toothbrush wasn't awful. The popular names were picked over here too.
There were also personalized zipper pulls and personalized stickers there, but none had the correct names for my children. Still, it may be worth a look for you Grannies, Aunties and Mommies out there. These would make cheap little gifts that are sure to please anyone under the age of 10.
Some shoes were also deeply discounted and at an additional 20% off on top of clearance prices. While you are there, make sure you sign your kids up for Geoffrey's Birthday Club. Our daughter used her $3 gift card from Geoffrey that she got from TRU just prior to her birthday a few months ago. It was set to expire next week, so it was put to good use just in time.
