Google Flu launched to help doctors track flu (supposedly better than the CDC) based on search terms

Google Flu. No, it isn't the newest flu medicine to hit the market. The search engine giant has launched Google Flu to help doctors track influenza better than the CDC. How is this possible? Well, seems folks tend to search more for phrases like "symptoms of flu" and the like when they may be ill or if a family member is ill. The site offers a map showing the severity of flu outbreaks in the states, with just a handful of them being moderate right now.

Theraflu is offering a printable coupon on its site for $2 off a Theraflu product. Also, if you think you have the flu, make haste in getting in at the doctor or at least calling in to ask if Tamiflu might be right for you. It is rx only, and can come with a pricey co-pay, but supposedly it is supposed to stop the virus from spreading as much in your body, allowing you to get better 1.3 days faster. I know, 1.3 days doesn't seem like much, but if you have ever had the flu and felt like you were dying from it, you might have a different take. It can also help prevent someone from getting the flu if they were exposed to someone who has the flu. It is key, however, to get Tamiflu within 24-48 hours of exposure or of the start of flu symptoms. Wait too long and it is just too late.
