Interesting article about retailer tricks... don't be fooled!

Wallet Pop has an interesting article, Retail Rip-offs & Sneaky Tricks, which I found worth a mention here. Truly, I have seen these tactics in retail and they are well designed to net sales. I have noticed, too, that when my Food Lion remodeled recently, the shopping carts got significantly bigger. Of course, that was a vast improvement to the shallow carts we had before. If you had an infant in a carrier, the baby was just about the only thing you could cram in that cart!

As for liquidation sales, it was widely publicized that Circuit City's liquidation was less than stellar. Most prices were actually higher than other places and this was especially true of movies and TVs. The liquidation sale just feeds into our need to feel like we are getting a bargain, even if we aren't.
