Walmart's site-to-store shipping review

My dad had two items shipped to my nearest Walmart for Christmas for the two munchkins. He had never used site-to-store before and I hadn't either. First, he had me scour the Walmarts in Fredericksburg for the items - two large bean bags - because buying from Walmart.com meant 8 bucks shipping... each! When I couldn't find any (was told they have them "closer to Christmas" and this was the beginning of December, I had to wonder... but I digress.)

So, my dad bought them via Walmart's site-to-store so the shipping would be free. He simply listed me as an additional pick up person and provided my email address when he ordered. We both received notification that the items were being shipped and both received an email when they arrived at the store. In my case, they were available for pick up until December 31, so there was plenty of time to get to Walmart to pick them up.

I printed out my email stating that the items were available and scouted out the site-to-store counter at the rear of the Walmart. I did have to provide photo ID, but pick up was a snap. They printed out a normal looking receipt as if I'd bought them myself and that is what I showed the door greeter when I left.

Would I recommend site-to-store? Yes. Some things are available online only and this is an easy way to get them without having to pay for shipping. I do see the site-to-store option as a very viable one for grandparents especially who live far away from their grandchildren. They can click away at home and have mom and dad pick up the items to wrap so that they will also be under the tree with the presents left by Santa.

This is not a sponsored post. I was not compensated by Walmart to write a glowing review. The experience and opinions are 100% my own.
