Saturday, May 12 is the day to Stamp Out Hunger!

My mail carrier left a blue plastic bag in my mailbox earlier this week as a reminder.  Now is a great time to clean out your pantry (they request nothing expired or glass) to share some of your bounty with less fortunate neighbors.

Here are a few items that are great for donation:  cereals, canned goods (veggies, fruits, etc.), mac and cheese, jello, pudding, potato flakes, and pasta.  I try to send things things that make healthy side dishes to meals.

What about pet food?  I have donated pet food in the past.  Really, a lot of people struggling to feed themselves may be struggling to feed their pet too (or are giving it precious food that they would normally eat.)

What are you placing next to your mailbox tomorrow?
