Walmart stores that are closing: 25% discount (some are exempt)

The deal talk over at Fat Wallet about Walmart Express and other Walmarts that are closing this spring is that most items (excepting vendor items like greeting cards, etc.) and other items that they were told could not be discounted, is 25%. 

I'm frankly surprised --- I really thought they'd shuffle their inventory around to competing Walmart stores.

Another commenter said an employee told them that the clearance would jump up to 50% on Friday. Also noted was that the 10% employee discount does not apply since items are clearanced.
 
You may recall from a previous post that Walmart Express stores, the bulk of the stores closing, are typically located in the deep south/south western US.  So Southerners will get the best deals on this clearance event.
