Where to find a good deal on a Slanket: QVC

I distinctly remember my father telling me once that when I had my own house, I could keep it as warm as I wanted. This, as I reached to nudge the thermostat a little to kick on the heat. Years later, I held to this axiom and kept the house in my comfort zone and paid the price with higher heating fuel costs. Something had to give and it was me. So while my husband would run around the house in shorts, I'd bundle up in a blanket.

Last year, however, my in-laws gifted me with a Slanket. You may have seen them on TV at one time, though now there's a cheaper version out called the Snuggie. Basically, the Slanket is a fleece blanket with sleeves. I actually use my Slanket, especially in the winter, and really like it for the most part. It's a bit too long for my petite frame, and there's a few things I'd have done differently design-wise... but overall, I love my Slanket. If I'm cold and glued to my computer, I grab my Slanket and type away in warm comfort.

Visiting the Slanket site allows you to view the product and even buy one. However, Slankets there are a bit pricey (close to $45). If you want to get one cheaper, try QVC. As I type this post, the Slanket there costs $29.96, plus shipping.

Snuggie also offers a Slanket like product (and offers kids sizes also) at a lower cost. I've read that a Snuggie is more like an oversized sweatshirt that is worn, vs. a Slanket that is a blanket with sleeves. They're currently offering a B1G1 deal (you pay shipping on second free item) making the cost of two Snuggies about $20 plus shipping.
