TRU Ninjago Lego deal - sale includes Booster Packs - also minifigures!

Does your little boy love Ninjago?  Well, their Lego sets are Buy 1, Get 1 50% off this week on sale.  But also included in this B1G1 half off sale are the Ninjago Booster packs if you're looking for a stocking stuffer or two for your little Spinjitzu master. Ruby Tuesday's has a great gift card promotion going on now through December 31 where a $50 purchase of gift cards nets you a $15 bonus coupon that's good 1/2 through 2/28 next year.  They're also offering free ground shipping with a standard online gift card purchase from December 5 - 31st.  No worries about having to run into Ruby Tuesday's to grab gift cards to snag this deal since you sure won't get the bonus if you buy gift cards at a grocery store instead.

The free $15 coupon you get for ordering $50 worth of gift cards will be delivered within 2 business days of the purchase, which makes me believe that it will arrive via email (check your spam filter!)  The coupon will expire 2/28/2012 and is not active until 1/2/2012.

Ruby Tuesday's gift card page

Living Social/McDonald's deal on 12/1: $13 for voucher for fries and burgers

This deal may be worth snagging tomorrow:  Living Social and McDonald's will team up for a daily deal on 12/1.  Tomorrow, Living Social members can snag a voucher booklet costing $13 that includes individual free vouchers for five Big Mac sandwiches and five large fries.  The press release states that they will be redeemable at participating restaurants nationwide and will come via snail mail.  

This could be a great deal if you're a fast food fanatic.  They also suggest that the vouchers can be individually gifted or put in as a stocking stuffer.

Buy a $50 Staples gift card, get $10 promotional card free (through 12/10)

Now through 12/10, Staples is offering a $10 promotional card when you buy a $50 gift card.  The promotional card is not a regular gift card, but is instead worth $10 between the 1/2/2012 and 1/14/2012, so you'll need to remember to redeem it during that finite time period.  If you aren't planning to buy a gift card as a gift, consider buying a gift card first to get the promo card and then use it for your purchase if you're picking up a gift at Staples.

Blockbuster Movie Pass -- Dish Network partners with Blockbuster starting 10/1

Wowza!  Many of us are still pretty ticked off at Netflix and now my satellite provider, Dish Network, has announced a partnership with Blockbuster that they're calling Blockbuster Movie Pass that will be launched on early October.  The details are kind of sketchy and I have no real pricing tier to view.  However, the lowest tiered plan will be $10 a month, and I'd have to assume that's one DVD out at a time.

This is supposed to be exclusive to Dish Network subscribers and will offer subscribers over 100,000 choices in movies, TV shows, and games.  The blurb on the Dish Network site says there will be "Thousands of movies to stream" so I'm going to withhold my opinion for now until I see what's going to be available for streaming.  Still, at $10 a month, if that includes one-at-a-time DVDs and stream together, it would be cheaper than Netflix.  As they say, the devil is in the details.  There's a place to sign up for notification when it launches so you can get more information at that time.

Now, I'm wondering which competitor is going to cozy up to DirecTV? 

Amazon deal: Wii console + Mario Kart game for $134.96 (plus you get a $20 Amazon promo credit)

Is a Wii on your Christmas list this year?  Now may be a good time to buy one since Amazon has either a black or white Wii console, plus a Mario Kart game for $134.96 (list price about $150).  Right now, they have a special offer that gets you a $20 Amazon credit after it ships.  These promo codes usually come within two days, as stated on their special offers info.

Old Navy Super Cash! Earn $10 for every $20 you spend (redeem end of August)

Are you planning to start your school shopping now that it's officially August?  Old Navy has a Super Cash promotion where from 8/1-8/18 you earn $10 for every $20 you spend, which is given to you as Super Cash, redeemable 8/25-8/29.  The bummer is that you can only redeem the Super Cash the way you got it:  One $10 Super Cash certificate for every $20 you spend (see terms here).   Still, if you're an Old Navy family, you might still find this deal palatable.  I suppose you could buy the kids their clothes now and save the Super Cash certificates for yourself? 

Staples sneak peek for July 24 ad: back-to-school deals

Staples has their sneak peek up for my area and there's a few 1 cent and 50 cent deals that I'll be snagging next week.  The 70 sheet note books that are .50 aren't as good of a deal as I saw 70 sheet notebooks at Walmart for .20 per.  Note:  If you're deals require a $5 purchase, be sure to grab the paper to cover that minimum purchase before grabbing any special penny deals. 

The NoVA ad is way different than mine for the Fredericksburg store.  Be sure to check your own ad if you search for a sneak peek.  I actually think their ads are a week ahead of mine, as a friend from Northern Virginia was describing to me their ad this week and it sounds a lot like my ad for next week.  In a way that can be good because I'll just sneak peek her ad to see what's coming down the pike in the future for me!

Target Black Friday (In July) Deals: Today only - Cheap kid-friendly flicks!

If you get the chance, stop by Target's site to check out their Black Friday in July deals.   One thing I did notice right away was the Kodak Easyshare camera for $89.99.  The KODAK M52/EFSP/RED is same price at Amazon (plus shipping - it does not ship free under Prime or Super Saver).

You can score a great deal on Babe, the cute movie about a pig, for $4.49, an over $10 savings.  Other kid-friendly movies on sale today include Cat in the Hat, Rugrats Go Wild, Rugrats in Paris, Bad News Bears, Paulie, Lassie, and more.

CVS and Huggies sale, plus link to get a free Huggies onesie (need codes)

CVS' diaper deal this week is that all Jumbo packs of Huggies are on sale 2 for $18 ($9 each).  There is also ECB of $4 on two, which brings the price down to 2 for $14, or $7 each.  The Snug and Dry qualifies and there are $1.50/1 any Huggies coupons out from a past insert.

So if you have two of those coupons, you can snag the Snug and Dry for 2 for $11 or $5.50 each pack.  There is a free Huggies onesie promo, where you can claim a free Huggies onesie by entering two codes from participating Snug and Dry packages.

John Frieda deal at CVS

There are a few ways to work the John Frieda deal at CVS this week.  Spend $10 on select items (including John Frieda, and you get $3 back in Extra Care Bucks.  This sale also includes Full Repair, on sale for $8 and the shampoo/conditioner/styler products priced at $6.   This deal can be done once per card/household.

Buying two John Frieda shampoo/conditioner/styler and using two $2 coupons = $12-$4=$8, or $5 for two after ECB.  One shampoo/conditioner/styler and one Full Repair = $14-$7 = $4 after ECB.

Need iTunes? CVS' iTunes deal this week.

If you're needing iTunes for yourself or as a graduation gift, this week at CVS there's a deal!  Spend $25 on any iTunes gift cards, get $5 back in ECB.  This is limit one per household, but is a good deal since you normally don't get a deal on gift cards.  If your CVS' gift card wall doesn't have any iTunes gift cards hanging there, check out by the cards.  My CVS had iTunes gift cards displayed by the greeting cards when the regular supply was wiped out.

Amazon.com deal: PS3 160GB Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle ($50 Amazon credit)

Right now, there's a PlayStation 3 160GB Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle for just under $300, plus there's a $50 Amazon.com credit for purchase. Included is the console, a dual shock wireless controller, Black Ops game.   When I purchased a PS3 a few months ago, the credit available for that offer at the time credited very quickly.
