Virginia Sales Tax Holiday on Energy Star Appliances Starts Today (October 8-11)

Today kicks off Virginia's Sales Tax Holiday on specified Energy Star appliances.  The Sales Tax Free Weekend runs October 8 through October 11.  Expect lots of helpful appliance salespeople at major retailers.  I happened to receive an email announcement from hhgregg, where I *just* purchased a washer and dryer set.  Why the washer couldn't have just held on for two more weeks is beyond me.  I'll console myself with the fact that we were able to snag the Frigidaire Affinity pair at a hugely discounted price due to their grand opening in Central Park in Fredericksburg.  On top of that, we snagged rebates on the delivery and also for buying the pair and also managed to snag a state rebate as well.

If you are a Virginia resident, check out the eligible items.  So long as the eligible item is $2,500 or less, is meant for residential and not commercial use and bears the Energy Star or Water Sense labels, you should be able to purchase it tax free this weekend.
