Certain Dri Solid Anti-Perspirant review: Did it keep me drier? Find out! (Plus giveaway)

Last week was a scorcher here in Virginia. 100 degree plus heat, with heat indices between 110-120+ for last Thursday through Saturday.  Sunday was slightly cooler with a heat index of about 101!  My deodorant (and air conditioner) were working overtime.  I couldn't imagine sweating like that all the time... how do people with excessive sweating cope?  I recently was given the opportunity to try out Certain Dri, a deodorant recommended by doctors to help patients cope with excessive sweating.  At a price point of $5.50-$6.00, Certain Dri is more affordable than other clinical strength deodorants on the market.

I don't suffer from excessive sweating, but I don't like to sweat at all, so I agreed to give Certain Dri a try.  One thing I noticed as I read the usage instructions is that you are supposed to use it at night.  So, at first, it was a little hard to remember to swipe it on right before bed, but I soon got into the routine.  

Do I feel drier and feel like I am sweating less?  Yes, I do.   I noticed that I felt drier after a few days of use.  I loved that the Certain Dri solid was not a wet roll on.  It felt and applied a lot like my regular deodorant, only perhaps a bit... drier?  Though I don't need this product for a it's main purpose, I do like that I can buy some extra strength anti-perspirant for the dog days of summer when I am going to sweat a lot more than any other time of year.

I did surf around their website and liked that it had a link to Certain Dri Teen.  My niece suffers from excessive perspiration and it was embarrassing for her when she was in high school.  She might have liked the information presented on that site.  They also include a list of retailers where you can buy Certain Dri, such as Walmart and Target.. all places teens can shop fairly easily.

Master Lock, Back-to-School, and Advice on Surviving the School Year

I will have graduated high school 20 years ago next year.  I can hardly believe it, yet I still remember those early, timid days in junior high like they were yesterday.  One of the big things that sticks out in my memory is having my first locker.  Along with that locker came the development of a new skill:  working a Master Lock.

I was so embarrassed that I had no lock working ability.  I remember having to ask my teacher to help me get into my locker.  That first week was really rough for me!  I had a combination I had to remember and work with ease since we only had 4 minutes between classes.  If you wanted to ditch your heavy history book, well, your fingers had better be nimble.

Master Lock has a cool, new lock that I would have loved way back then.  The new Master Lock 1500iD Speed Dial™ Set-Your-Own Combination Lock would have saved me lots of time, embarrassment, and grief!  I would have been able to set the combo to something I could easily remember, versus what came stickied on the back of the lock.

One of the best things about Outback Steakhouse (aside from the steaks, of course), is that they have an actual gluten free menu that you can ask for!  We ate there a few weeks ago and usually when I ask for a gluten free menu, I get a weird look of "what?" followed by someone going to the back and rummaging around.  Usually, what I'm brought back is some chart that looks like the grid of a Battleship game.  In short, very hard to decipher because you have to go from the main menu to the gridded one to see if your no-no ingredient is part of the recipe.  Outback had an actual menu that listed food items on it.  That made me feel like a regular patron, rather than a special case.  Our waitress "got it" and seemed very knowledgeable about gluten free preparation.

So that said, I would totally want to win and kick back with the girls!  Though I'd probably take hubby along because their steak is so good!
